Staff Spotlight – Margret Harris

Mrs. Margaret Harris is the main office secretary and the principal’s secretary here at Rushville Consolidated High School (RCHS). Mrs. Harris is very kind and willing to help with anything. With these positions at RCHS, Mrs. Harris has a busy day, but she took time to let me ask her a few questions.
Mrs. Harris has not worked at any other schools besides Rushville Consolidated High School. When asked why she wanted to work here, Mrs. Harris exclaimed, “I was looking for a new job, and working at Rushville Consolidated High School seems like fun.” As of now, she has worked here at Rushville Consolidated High School for twenty-four years. Mrs. Harris really likes it here at Rushville Consolidated High School. When asked what her favorite part of being here was, Mrs. Harris said, “There are a bunch of amazing people to work with.” Mrs. Harris plans for Rushville Consolidated High School to be the last place she will work at. With every job it takes a while to get used to things, “It took about a year for me to get used to things here”, Mrs. Harris said. If given the choice to change her job to something else, Mrs. Harris wouldn’t; she likes where she works.
Mrs Harris exclaimed, “Rushville is a nice place to live.” Mrs. Harris was born and raised here in Rushville; she hasn’t moved out of Rushville due to the amazing atmosphere. Mrs. Harris is happily married. “I am blessed to have three children who are grown and live on their own,” Mrs. Harris explains. The oldest child is 31 years old, her name is Jessica; she lives in Indianapolis, and she is a project manager for education and training. The second born, Jacob is 27; he lives here in Rushville, and is a crane operator. The third born, Jenna is 26; she lives in Kentucky, and she is a registered nurse.
Mrs. Harris is currently not a part of any clubs/sports. On the other hand, some of Mrs. Harris’ hobbies include gardening and cleaning. Regarding sports teams, Mrs. Harris stated, “My favorite sports team is the Cubs.”
Thank you to Mrs. Harris for taking time out of her day and letting me interview her for the school website. Mrs. Harris does a wonderful job of being the main office secretary and the principal’s secretary here at Rushville Consolidated High School. Mrs. Harris has a big part in making Rushville Consolidated High School what it is now.
