The boy’s cross country team traveled to Connersville for the EIAC sectionals meet on October 10th. The team emerged victorious, placing first in Sectionals for the third time in a row. RCHS Junior Kyle Stanley placed second in the race, and Senior Caleb Krodel placed 5th. Five of the boys placed within the top 20. Caleb Krodel says, “We put a lot of effort into preparing for this race, and the results speak for themselves.”

Rushville then competed in the Regionals race at home on Saturday, October 17th. Unfortunately, the boys failed to advance to Semi-State as a team, bringing their season to an end; however, Caleb Krodel and Kyle Stanley advanced individually. Krodel expressed his mixed feelings: “We did not put forth the performance necessary to advance as a team… Individually, I ran well enough to advance on my own, as did Kyle. Despite how exciting that was, it still would’ve been much better with the rest of the team.” Caleb Krodel and Kyle Stanley placed 122nd and 84th in the Semi-State race, respectively.

The Rushville Boys’ Cross Country season came to an end with many victories and accomplishments under their belt. Krodel says, “Cross Country has given me many memories over the years, and this season was no exception. We ran the most successful season in recent memory and I am proud of all of our accomplishments over the past few years.” The boys are now working toward building a successful Track season.
