Amid this crazy school year, one thing we have tried to keep as normal as possible is sports. School sports are very important to students, as it provides something for students to do outside of school, and it can be a good stress reliever for many students. As we head towards winter, we successfully have made it through the fall sports seasons with no cancellations due to COVID-19. Recently, The Lions baseball team has started up their fall workouts, preparing for their season in the spring.

When asked how he thinks the baseball season will go, varsity catcher Bryce Berkemeier says, “So far so good. I just hope we stay in school long enough to have a season and hope things only get better from here.”

As we see another spike in positive COVID-19 tests in Indiana, there grows a concern that we might have to shut down again, and spring sports, including baseball, won’t be possible. Everyone involved hopes to see their 2021 season and hopes to make it through it with no cancellations.
