Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Winner

2019-2020 Lilly Scholarship Winner

On Wednesday, December 11th, the Rush County Community Foundation (RCCF) presented Ethan Chastain with the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship.  Presenting the award was Alisa Winters, Executive Director of the Rush County Community Foundation.  Also in attendance was Kristie Amos, Program Specialist at RCCF, Mr. Hadley, Principal; Mr. Mendoza, Dean of Students; Mr. Perin, English Teacher and RCCF Board Member; Mrs. Brashaber, Math Teacher and RCCF Board Member; Mrs. Hornsby and Mrs. Puls, Guidance Counselors; Bob Bridges, School Resource Officer and RCCF Board Member; Marlo Chastain, Ethan’s mother, and Chris Chastain, Ethan’s father.

The Lilly Endowment Scholarship allows one student to have a free ride scholarship to one Indiana College.  The full description is below.

“The scholarship program provides scholarships to prospective college attendees possessing and demonstrating strong academic and leadership skills. The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship program provides Rush County with one scholarship for full tuition, required fees and a special allocation of up to $900 per year for required books and required equipment for four years of undergraduate study on a full time basis leading to a baccalaureate degree at any Indiana public or private college or university accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. “(Rush County Community Foundation)

Ethan has chosen to go to Rose Hulman Institute of Technology, located in Terre Haute, IN.
